for christmas i got an iPhone gift card. i was very excited because i had been wanting an iPhone and my dream had finally come true. the day after christmas, i went over to the mall to go to the apple store to pick up my gift but my dreams were shattered. i have t-mobile and i am stuck in that damn contract until april of 2010. if i want to get out of the contract, i have to pay 200 dollars, something i am too broke ass to do. i figured that i would be able to go into the apple store and pick up JUST the iPhone, like you could do with the first model of the iPhone, however, this is not possible.

i happily walked into the apple store and told one of the salespersons that i wanted to redeem my gift card for my iPhone. the apple “specialist” immediately asked if i had chosen what at&t plan i wanted to place my iPhone on. this is when i realized that the specialist was not as special as the company made him out to be. he then told me that i could not just buy the iPhone and i needed to have an at&t plan. after hearing that bullshit, i marched into the t-mobile store (in the same mall) and told them my problem. they told me that there was no way to get around this. when i was finished dealing with the people in t-mobile, i went back to the apple store and requested a manager. the skank baby manager spit out the same information that the “specialist” had told me 45 minutes earlier. i asked her “can i buy the phone and set up my plan in the at&t store?” which i thought was a very valid question and legit reason for her to just hand over that fine piece of technology, but she said no. i kept on the same question telling her that i could not buy the iPhone with my gift card at the at&t store, and she still would not sell me that damn phone. 

i am so mad at apple. why did they have to pick at&t…
